I left notices of a public meeting for those who had been harmed by pokies under windscreens of cars in the Sandbelt carpark. The Sandbelt venue operator or manager threatened to take me to court for trying to help problem gamblers? HA to caring. 6  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

Yeah something needs to be done.. They pray on peoples gambling addictions to suck them dry and make huge profits.. It's not gaming, it's just robbery... 50 dollars doesn't even last 5 mins in this place and that is coming from someone who has finally figured out that they are not there for entertainment but to just make a very quick and huge profit for the owners... 4  out of 5 found this valuable. You should know that it is illegal to put paraphanalia against a venue under windscreens in their private car park... But hey, far be it from you to obey the law when you are playing hero to the 2% of problem gamblers...

All machines in Victoria have the same minimum payback percentage by law. But hey, far be it for you to let the truth get in the way of a good story!!!

Our local (Langwarrin Hotel) has had 15 new machines put in and I see people gambling away, our organization said to turn a blind eye to the hotel as they donate money to us. The way I see it is they are causing the problem and we are seeing bashings of loved ones etc........this hotel has jumped up in the pokies with all the money they take from our people the worse things are getting.
The staff have been told to smile at the customers offer tea coffee etc to make them stay longer, the owner walks around with a big smile on his face, But then again you would wouldn't you, knowing that your making $60,000.00 a week profit, man this is the business to be in.

2%, thats 2% of the Australian Population, thats 2 people in every hundred you pass on the street, and thats only the ones they say have a problem.

According to the latest population stats 2% equates to about 500000 people, gee only half a million pokie addicts and WA does not have pokies, must be all the eastern states.

And ahh, of course you have no association with the Pro Pokies lobby do you?

The problem gamblers will keep gambling, when they run out of money they will sell the second car, when that's all gone they will not go away on holidays, when that's all gone they will steal from you.
This has already been shown with the court cases in the papers..... a lot of these hotels need to be more generous with the money they give out, the workers club is giving it back to the bingo players.

2% of problem gamblers? I think you'll find there's more than that. They've ruined so many lives. Nobody can deny there's a big problem out there! 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

There is more than 2% when it comes to problem gamblers. Gambling has absolutely £€¥£ed up this society. It should be banned. How many lives have been lost because of greedy operators and governments. We need to get back to a life in this country without these issues surrounding us every day. Do you find this valuable?

This country is so reliant on the gambling. Shame we can't arrest those people for theft of money or of ones life. If manufacturing businesses go under nobody cares. Governments have lost the plot towards the general population 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

They lose everything including friends because of it. If we didn't have them, there would be minimal cases of problems occurring. Not many people say they would go to the casino everyday as it is too far away.

Haha you're one of those losers who thinks that because they put money in they should get a payout. Obviously the venue operator is controlling the machines to not have any features, free spins or payouts, it's all a conspiracy ahhhh! Haven't you seen the ad on TV where there's a person digging a whole bunch of holes looking for buried treasure and it says that you have better odds finding treasure than winning big on the pokies or whatever. Think about it, if the machines paid out every time some donkey put in $200, they wouldn't make any money and that is the whole point - they are, after all, a businesss not a charity. If you want an exciting way to get money, why not play the stock market?
