This is the best explanation of how the machines work on video and this is EXACTLY how they work in Victoria... :)

This person's qualifications are thin to say the least. His experience is based upon vists and guided tours. I prefer the studies undertaken by Professor Harrigan based upon actual machines and actual PAR Sheets. I also prefer the studies written by Professor Schull of MIT in Boston whose book, published by Princeton University is due in September. She has completed 15 years of academic studies. http://scripts.mit.edu/~schull/nds/
I was disappointed in that the speaker did not mention the divergence in likely frequency of wins.
His information about the ease of changing the "game" and thereby the RTP is misleading. The machine I viewed does not require a new chip. He narrowly defines near miss for a single line game rather than refer to the circumstance as it exists in the reality of multi line games in Australia.
The gambling advertising on his web site does not add to his credibility.

That's my point... It DOESN'T happen in Australia as per the regulations, standards and productivity commission and VCGR findings... But you will never admit this no matter how much evidence I give you, and stop asking for PAR sheets, you won't get them...

Steve Bourie gives a really basic explanation about how the machines work, and as EGM-Watch said, his qualifications are really thin.

Speaking with authority and telling everyone that you are telling the truth does not necessarily mean that what you say is the truth.

I sure wouldn't buy a car from someone who told me that they know the car I'm looking at has brakes because the law states that all cars sold have to have them. Neither would I buy one from someone who claims they know all about how cars work because they've spoken to heaps of car manufacturers, car sellers and motor registry staff. I would buy a car from someone who claimed to be no car expert but who allowed me get any car I wanted to buy from them chacked by a qualified mechanic.

By the way, Professor Harrigan told me he is looking into what players of multiple line games perceive as 'near wins'. I am confident his definition of 'near wins' will be expanded to include those that appear on multiple line games in the not too distant future.

Of course he will... Because he knows what people like you want to hear... And it could send herald sun and today tonight into a frenzy again...:)
