Hi, don't you guys think it is slightly inappropriate that immediatly to the right of where you are reading this, there are adverts that directly promote gambling. This inclues - play pokies online and find a casino near you. For a website that appears to want to curb problem gambling, why in the world are you allowing these sort of ads? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

The reason that the ads have been there is that I wanted to avoid paying US $20 per month to remove them. Bear in mind that these Google links are placed on my web pages by Wetpaint, the host of this web site. Not PokieWatch.
The truth is that no matter what the traffic is to this web site, there is no money in it. I have no control of what appears in any event. It can range from share transactions to buying from Big W to anti gambling advocates. The vast majority are completely irrelevant to anything posted on PokieWatch.org.

Anyway, 115.131.202.59.... You win!

I now pay Wetpaint US $20 a month and there are no Google ads. Now 115.131.202.59, 'fess up. Do you work for Wetpaint? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Hi PauI work for a hotel group, you should start to target smaller hotels who tend to ignore legislative requirements. They either don't obey them are are just plain ignorant. Larger hotel chains are managed well in these sort of things... Do you find this valuable?

I work for a Giant group and they are asking us managers to get more business....Come on you people put more in the pokies, so I can keep my job. All this for just 70k not worth the ****. Do you find this valuable?

Just because one is a part of the largest pokie operator, Woolworths, does not guarantee compliance with either the letter nor the spirit of the legislative objective to minimise the harm of pokie gambling. Like the industry so ofter preaches, it's up to the individual. In this case, it is the individual pokie pub or club operator.
With respect to the "business", it is essential that it makes a profit otherwise it is not a business. As pokie revenue is so much a part of that business, it is natural to encourage managers to grown that revenue. The issue is the harm that results from the pokie gambling business.
One of the manifestations of that encouragement is the marketing to lure families with children inside pokie pubs. The clear intent is to "get more business". Unfortunately, damage to children is the result with a greater liklihood that they will become problem gamblers.
It is a nasty business and will continue to be so until the harm of pokie gambling is addressed by altering the very operation of the machine and legislating sensible limits (pre-commitment, $1 maximum bet, reduction of volatility and cash acceptor maximums) so that consumption does not lead to harm

YOU ARE A FOOL!!! Why would you work for a leech of a group that only pays you $70,000.00 per year??? If you are half decent you could easily get a job in a smaller hotel or a club for a **** load more than that!!!

Leave these leeches and make a better life for you and your family... Do you find this valuable?
