Alternatively, patrons could access dining room and Members' rooms by walking along back veranda. As one walked along back veranda, pokies were visible and audible. Windows had venetian blinds which were down, however the slats were in the horizontal position. It appeared that no one, including children, could access general eating and bowling facilities without seeing and hearing poker machines.

'Talker' brochures offering gambling help, attached to all except two pokies, at eye-level.
Sign on glass entry door to foyer, which led to pokie room, read "No children allowed past this point." In the same foyer, visible to everyone approaching the front door, is a large visually alluring game-machine called a Chocolate Factory. Machine had a toggle handle and required coin to operate it.
