23 March 2008 Inspection Notes:

'Cannot Win' talker signs

All signs were placed too high so as not to be visible from video play face. Poor practice. Signs had previously been placed at video face level as remnants of tape were visible on every pokie. This leads to the conclusion that signs had been correctly placed and then intentionally removed to a less visible space.

Visibility of ATM from Gaming Room

Yes. Picture of tavern exterior taken from atop the Commonwealth Bank ATM. This terminal is not close to any other shop in the mall e.g. the movie box office. Conclusion is that it was deliberately placed for its visibility from the gaming room.

Distance of ATM from nearest pokie

14 paces from the Westpac ATM outside the tavern.

Visible posting of availability of Self-Exclusion facility

None

Number of Player Information Posters

Nine

Eating in Gaming Room

No.

Kid's Play Area

This gaming area is located in a mall and is clearly visible to all passers-by. It is almost directly opposite the box office for the Village cinemas.

General Comments

Licensing is confusing. Posted on entrance is an expired venue operators license for Century City Entertainment P/L. The same company is mentioned in a class 2 license. However, the venue operator's license that is current is in the name of ALH. ALH trading as Century City Walk holds the food license according to another posting. The ALH mission statement is a freestanding talker at the cashiers counter. Notwithstanding, another company lodged the Community Benefits statement.
According to the website trading hours are Sunday to Thursday: 8.00am to 3.00am / Friday and Saturday: 8.00am to 4.00am.
