3 April 2008 Inspection Notes:

'Cannot Win' talker signs

3 signs placed so as not to be visible when looking into the video play face.

Visibility of ATM from Gaming Room

When a gambler enters this venue through the either of the two doors, they are presented with a room on two levels divided by a wall of pokies and a low constructed wall. The upper level includes a bar, a small lounge area and an ATM. The lower level houses the pokies. There is also a low table and two chairs in the lower level.
There is no door between the two areas. There was no full floor to ceiling divider between the two rooms.
While the ATM is not visible from the position of pokey players, subjectively, it can be found that the ATM is in the same room, albeit on a different level.
The ATM is visible when using the left door to enter the premises.

General Comments

Ross Blair-Holt is the nominee for these premises who is noted in other VGCR returns as the Chief Operating Officer of nearly all Woolworths' associated companies.
In this instance, the venue operator is Capricornia Pty Ltd. Search of the records of the VGCR does not disclose interests associated with Woolworths although it does disclose association with Mr. Blair-Holt and Bruce Mathieson, the joint venture associate of Woolworths in ALH and other entities.
This venue has been included in PokeyWatch.org because of this association. Mr. Mathieson is also mentioned in the statement of Mr. Luscombe.
The pokies allocated to this location appear to have been relocated from the Menzies Tavern. Please read this decision for further details.
